Mapping of Regenerative Places (EN)

Create a digital map-based presentation of regenerative places and sustainable landscapes (e.g. urban agriculture, parks, gardens, rewilding). Use the map-based presentation to transparently tell the story of your project and connect with potential funders.

We provide a "Mapping of Regenerative Places Corner". A place you can join over the course of the conference and build a map of regenerative places (we will be assisting the process). Such places can be urban gardening areas, parks, or some rewilding locations. In addition, we offer a 1-hour regenerative mapping workshop using explorer.land.
By bringing regenerative places onto a map-based presentation they become more visible and accessible to broader audiences. This way, digitization (Bits) can help to build the needed initial connectedness between people and nature (Bäume). We will only regenerate and protect what we know and what we feel connected to.

The map-based platform explorer.land is a unique platform that is accessible for every grassroot project for free. With explorer.land , we want to provide an easily accessible way for regenerative landscape projects to use maps and tell their story transparently. In the past, maps played an important role for navigating, conquering, and dividing the world. Today, maps can be used to build bridges, connect initiatives and people globally, and shine light onto community activism for protecting nature such as The Ruwenzori Sculpture Foundation https://explorer.land/p/project/rf-rewild/. And this what explorer.land stands for.

explorer.land is a map service developed by OpenForests.

Alexander has a forestry and social finance background and is co-founder of OpenForests a social enterprise that builds explorer.land a digital forest landscape mapping platform.
